Sergio A. Pombo

 

Sergio has over 33 years of experience working in global emerging markets, including 17 years at IFC: of which 12 years in global private equity, and five years in direct investing and risk management. At IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, he structured 20 private equity funds in Latin America, Asia and Africa for a total IFC participation in excess of $500 million (20% stake of a total funding of $2.5 billion). He served on the boards and advisory committees of various private equity funds. He has also advised several LAC governments’ programs to spur local private equity industry. Prior to IFC, he worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London in strategy and risk management.

Sergio is also a Senior Advisor to global institutional investors in climate finance.
